Opening Fall 2024
Construction is underway on our new state-of-the-art teaching academy at Horseshoe Bay Resort with plans to have the space operational in the fall of 2024. Construction on the 3,000 square foot Cap Rock Golf Academy featuring Callaway began January 22. Located at our Cap Rock location, this new facility is positioned at the end of the existing practice range, which currently serves two of our four championship golf courses, Apple Rock and Ram Rock.
Indoor Bays + Simulator
Outdoor Bays + Putting
Two indoor teaching bays are designed with the flexibility to be climate controlled or open to hit into the outdoors, ultimately allowing the ability to see the golf ball flight in real time. Each bay will be outfitted with TrackMan and Top Tracer technology with multiple cameras to provide slow motion capture of the golf swing, golf club, and golf ball data points. The indoor bays are equipped with a golf simulator, which allows Golf Academy students to play over 100 notable golf courses virtually. Available by appointment only.
Eight covered outdoor hitting stations will feature Top Tracer technology, giving the player exact yardage of the shot, ribbon illustration, and other features to enhance the practice experience.
Close by will be a natural grass putting/chipping/pitching green perfect for learning the game’s many and varied short game shots.

Bobby began his duties as Director of Instruction at Horseshoe Bay Resort in 2018, but has been teaching golf for more than a quarter of a century. In 1999, Bobby accepted the role as Head Teaching Professional at The Westin Mission Hills Gary Player Signature Course, where he spent nearly two decades working one-on-one with thousands of golfers of all levels, and thousands more through Golf Digest and ESPN Golf Schools. Bobby is the author of four books, as well as the creator of “Longer with Age,” a program he developed to help experienced golfers turn back the clock to regain lost distance.
