Morris D. Jaffe, Jr’s business success over the past 30 years includes real estate investment and development, energy exploration and production, aviation modifications, trading and leasing. His real estate portfolio includes development and management of a plethora of real estate, including: land tracts, ranches, industrial properties, retail properties, office buildings, hotel and hospitality projects in San Antonio, Austin and Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Mr. Jaffe’s energy contribution is vast. He was as a principle and sponsor of several oil and gas exploration projects with several major oil companies. His latest ventures involve aviation where Mr. Jaffe has over twenty years’ experience and earned worldwide recognition from notable clients including: Gordon and Ann Getty (Getty Oil), Marvin Davis (Davis Energy), the King of Thailand, Donald Trump and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. Theformation of Jetran International in 2002 was a milestone for Jaffe; establishing a combined fleet of nearly 100 B737’s, DC-9’s and MD-80’s, along with 75 spare jet engines and an extensive spare parts inventory. Jetran is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas . Mr. Jaffe is active in overseeing the Resort’s development and operations.
Ron Lynn Mitchell
Vice Chairman, President & CEO
Ron Mitchell has served as the Vice Chairman of Horseshoe Bay Resort since 2004 as well as President since 2012. He is also the Vice President/Developer of Summit Rock Communities and President of Horseshoe Bay Resort Realty. Mr. Mitchell started his tenure with Horseshoe Bay Resort as the Sales and Marketing Director in the 1970s. Since that time, Mr. Mitchell has played a critical role in leading Horseshoe Bay Resort into prominence as one of the nation’s most successful private clubs and destination resorts. Mr. Mitchell spearheaded numerous development projects for Horseshoe Bay Resort and managed many key elements of resort operations from 1979-2004. Outside of the Resort, Mr. Mitchell currently serves as Vice Chairman on the Board of Regents for the Texas State University System. He was appointed by Governor Perry to fulfill this esteemed role that represents nine intuitions of higher education across Texas. Mr. Mitchell is also a recent recipient of the Marble Falls Lake LBJ Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Citizen.
Chief Financial Officer
Brian McNamara has been Chief Financial Officer of the Jaffe Group since January 2012. He oversees and directs the financial management of Horseshoe Bay Hotel and Resort, Summit Rock Communities LLC and the Jaffe Aviation Companies. Mr. McNamara is a CPA and a CGMA (Certified Global Management Accountant). Mr. McNamara is a Senior-Level executive and former Audit Partner with Pannell Kerr Forster, a firm that specialized in the Hotel, Resort and Real Estate Industries. He has extensive finance leadership, administration and public accounting experience in diverse industries including real estate, hospitality, gaming, retail and restaurants. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in accounting.
