The exclusive, members-only Jack Nicklaus signature course is considered by many to be the Golden Bear’s best work. Nicklaus says each hole is a “signature hole” as the 147 acre course blends with scenic topography punctuated by stands of Texas live oaks. From the rewarding 30-mile Hill Country views from the tee box of the 3rd hole to the scenic ridgeline of hole 1, this legendary course is a true masterpiece.

  • Hole 1

    Par 4

    This beautiful opening hole sets the tone for the rest of the round. Avoid the bunkers on the left side fairway and the penalty area that cross in front of the green to set up a birdie opportunity.

  • Hole 2

    Par 5

    Players want to position your tee shot down the right side to avoid the large bunker left. This fairway slopes right to left. Long hitters can reach the green with their second shot. Players who choose to lay up need to avoid the two bunkers short of the green. This will leave a short iron into this slightly elevated green.

  • Hole 3

    Par 3

    After taking in the view from the tee box, avoid the bunkers in front of the green. Selecting the right club is critical on this hole.

  • Hole 4

    Par 4

    Avoid the 3 bunkers in the fairway. This tee shot will challenge all levels of players. The approach to this large green must avoid the deep bunker on the left.

  • Hole 5

    Par 5

    A wonderfully designed and demanding par 5 requires 3 good shots to find the putting surface in regulation. Players want to favor the right center of the fairway, as the fairway slopes right to left. Players should lay up short of the bunker on the right.

  • Hole 6

    Par 3

    This par 3 features a large green that offers many different hole locations. The tee shot is played uphill to green that is guarded by a big bunker on the left side. Tee shots played to the right side of the green will bounce left onto the green.

  • Hole 7

    Par 4

    This relatively short par 4 requires a straight tee shot. Players must decide if they want to take the risk of driving it over the fairway bunker or lay up short. The second shot is plays uphill to a green that is guarded if front by trees.

  • Hole 8

    Par 4

    This dogleg right provides challenges on tee shot. Players want to aim the tee shot down the left center of the fairway to set up the best angle to play their second shot. With a good drive players will have a short iron into a flat green.

  • Hole 9

    Par 4

    Players should play their tee shot down the left center of the fairway and avoid the bunker on the right side. A good tee shot will leave a second shot that is played slightly downhill to a green that is guarded by a deep bunker.

  • Hole 10

    Par 4

    A dogleg right provides challenges on both the tee shot and the approach shot. Players want to avoid the fairway bunkers on the right side. The approach shot plays uphill so take an extra club to find this long and narrow green.

  • Hole 11

    Par 4

    A well placed tee shot is critical on this hole. This dogleg right downhill par 4 demands a good tee shot. Players will be playing their second shot from a downhill lie with a mid-iron to a large green set at an angle.

  • Hole 12

    Par 3

    A scenic par 3 plays down the hill. Choose your club carefully as any miss left will be severely punished.

  • Hole 13

    Par 4

    Don’t be deceived by the shortness of this hole. It demands two well placed shots and does not forgive wayward shots. Avoid the penalty area down the entire right side. Play a mid to long iron off the tee to have a short wedge into the green.

  • Hole 14

    Par 5

    Players should aim their tee shots between the two oak trees framing the fairway. Long hitters will have the opportunity to reach the green in 2 while the shorter hitters want to lay up short of the penalty area that crossing the fairway in front of the green.

  • Hole 15

    Par 3

    A relatively short par 3 provides players have a good chance for par or birdie. But don’t get greedy: miss the green short and you will be challenged.

  • Hole 16

    Par 4

    A well placed tee shot is critical on this hole. Players should stay left of the fairway bunker on the right. Long hitter should take their tee shot over the left edge of the right bunker. Approach shots that miss the green left by the smallest of margins will into the penalty area.

  • Hole 17

    Par 4

    Aim the tee shots at the middle fairway bunker. Players will be playing a mid to long iron into the green.

  • Hole 18

    Par 5

    This wonderful finishing hole challenges players of all skill levels. Players should avoid the bunker on the right side of the fairway. The second shot presents another challenge for players to carry a barranca crossing the fairway. Players should favor the left side to set up the best angle into the green. Take an extra club to a deceptively uphill approach shot.
